Shiny Scania
This superb remote control Scania R730 truck was discovered on MOCpages today. It’s been built by previous bloggee Shineyu Yu, who has matched his latest build to scale with LEGO’s own Mercedes-Benz Arocs truck. Underneath the Technic bodywork is a set of Power Functions motors and LED lights, and there’s lots more to see on either MOCpages or Eurobricks – click the links to make the jump.

Timber!
‘Tis the season of cutting down trees, dressing them in tinsel and watching them… er, slowly die. But mankind’s appetite for timber is year-round, and it is machines like this that keep the supply of wood coming.
This is a Scania R620 logging truck, complete with centrally-mounted crane and 4-axle trailer. Built by Zbiczasty of Brickshelf it has a huge array of LEGO’s most trick parts squeezed inside it. Working lights, remote control steering and all-wheel-drive all feature, plus – much like LEGO’s own flagship models – Zbiczasty has combined these with a pneumatics system for even more realism.
A Power Functions motor compresses air for the pneumatic cylinders, which power the stabilising feet, crane boom and the wood-handling grab. These are all mid-mounted between the tractor unit and the trailer, thus allowing logs to be loaded seamlessly onto both structures.

Scania G480 Crane Truck – Picture Special
TLCB favourite shineyu is back with another glorious Technic creation; a truly enormous Scania G480 10×4 crane truck. Inside the superbly accurate bodywork are ten LEGO Power Functions motors and four infrared receivers, giving shineyu’s Scania a huge breadth of motorised functions, all of which can be controlled remotely.
The drive, steering, boom elevation, rotation and extension, stabilisers, and rear tail-lift are all remotely operational, being powered directly by a motor, linear actuator, or through some expert mechanical engineering.

Top of the Line
This magnificent Scania R730 V8 Topline comes from TLCB favourite Shineyu of Eurobricks. Brilliantly blending Technic and Model Team style construction, Shineyu’s Scania looks superbly accurate and yet also manages to include good functionality, with remote control drive courtesy of two XL motors and a Medium motor for the steering. Build Big
The ridiculously talented Dennis Bosman has featured here numerous times over the years (and is one of our original Master MOCers), and he’s recently re-visted one of his oldest builds. This incredible recreation of a Menck M154 dragline excavator was built by Dennis over 12 years ago, and it’s now been re-photographed atop his stunning Scania R500 truck complete with Faymonville low-loader trailer.
The beautifully built truck and trailer measure a combined 7ft in length, which gives some indication of just how massive the dragline is. Long Load
Dennis Bosman’s mighty Scania R500 with Broshuis extendable trailer has appeared here before, and he’s recently updated his build to reflect the unique way that long items can be transported in the Netherlands, with the load raised above the cab to reduce the overall vehicle length. Sunshine Scania
Another day and another Elf returns to TLCB Towers in the hope of receiving a meal token and a Smartie. A hope realised, as this remote control Technic Scania truck is just the sort of model that this blog was created for. Built by newcomer Fig850 it features RC drive, steering and tilting cab (powered by an L motor each), a remotely operated three-speed gearbox, a V8 piston engine and working front and rear suspension. Drop it Like it’s Hot
This neat classic Scania 112M truck complete with a huge dropside trailer and crane comes from previous bloggee and truck-building specialist Arian Janssens. Measuring over 100 studs long and built during September it probably qualifies for the current community bandwagon too*. Seventies Scania
This stunning model is a near perfect replica of one of the most powerful trucks of the 1970s, the 375bhp V8-powered Scania LBS141.
Built by Master MOCer Dennis Bosman aka LegoTrucks it’s very probably one of the most accurate recreations of a real-world vehicle that this site has ever featured; there are even parts of this build where offsets are less than half-a-stud in width. Much like a bumblebee shouldn’t – by all mathematic calculations – be able to fly, we’re pretty sure that an offset of less than half-a-stud is an impossibility too, but nevertheless Dennis has confounded the maths.

Eight Squared
This neat Scania dump truck was discovered on Eurobricks today, and at first we thought it was a simple, although good-looking, mechanical model. However the exterior is deceptively bland, as it’s hiding some proper engineering genius underneath.
Builder TomasHubik has managed to squeeze in a fully remote controlled 8-wheel-drive, 4-wheel-steering chassis, complete with a differential between each pair of wheels and different turning radiuses between the first and second steering axles. Not only that, a Power Functions Medium motor allows the load bed to raise and lower too.
We’re as baffled by how all that fits inside as we are by your Mom’s corset, so we’ve taken the unusual step of publishing a photo of the chassis in this post too. Long Time Coming
This wonderful classic Scania 111 long-nose truck is something of a watershed vehicle in the Lego community. First uploaded over 5 years ago, Dennis Bosman’s stunning recreation of the Swedish hauler has inspired countless other truck builders over the years, and Dennis has recently refreshed it to inspire a few more.
Attached to the rear Dennis has constructed an enormous Broshuis extendible trailer, complete with a steel lattice load, and it fits beautifully to his old Scania. Tidy Tipper
In contrast to today’s other post, this model is as smooth as it gets. The other post featured a model from the ’70s, and whilst we’re sure there’s a metaphor for that one being decidedly un-smooth we’re not sure we can write it here. We’ll let you use your imagination instead.
Anyway, on to his model. This incredibly slick Scania 8×4 tipper truck is the work of Robert Heim of Flickr, and it is quite remarkably smooth.

Hauling Bricks
This gorgeous replica of Scania’s R620 8×4 truck comes from previous bloggee Shineyu of Eurobricks. Not only does the Scania look the part, thanks to brilliant detailing and some excellent custom-made decals, it’s fully remote controlled too, with three Power Functions XL motors driving the rear two axles and a Servo motor powering the steering on the front two.

Twin Trucks
Two Elves returned to the office today, each with a wonderfully realistic Model Team truck, each of which conceals a full Power Functions remote control drivetrain inside.
This of course led to a dispute over whose truck was better, and this of course led to spectacularly violent Elf-fight. But it’s the weekend, we’re feeling generous, and to be honest you couldn’t slide a credit card between these two models in terms of excellence, so thus they’re both appearing here.
First up (above) is Lasse Deleuran’s stunningly replicated DAF XF Super Space Cab, pictured with a character that bears a striking resemblance to your Mom. It’s powered by two L Motors, contains 8 LED lights and is controlled via a third-party SBrick bluetooth brick. Today’s second RC truck comes from Flickr’s keko007, and it’s actually based on an earlier model by Lasse. Keko’s Scania R 4×2 Highline also features Power Functions drive and steering, and Keko has built a neat linear actuated tipper trailer to accompany it. The Other 3 Series
This beautifully detailed classic Scania 113M 320 truck comes from previous bloggee Andre Pinto. Produced from the late ’80s to the late ’90s, Scania’s ‘3 series’ of trucks came in variety of sizes and engine specifications and can still be seen throughout Europe, such is their reputation for reliability. Thermidor
This absolutely stunning Scania R580 in PWT Thermo livery is the latest model to come from truck building legend and TLCB Master MOCer Dennis Glaasker aka Bricksonwheels. Constructed from over 4,200 pieces Dennis’ incredible creation features full bluetooth remote control (courtesy of a third-party SBrick device), a long-lasting RC battery pack, and twin XL motors.
Dennis’ Scania R580 will be available to view in person at the upcoming Legoworld exhibition 2017 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, but for those not local to Utrecht you can check out the image in high quality at Dennis’ photostream – click the link above to make the trip.

Scania R560 Crane Truck – Picture Special
It seems like only yesterday that we featured a truck by ShineYu (aka Yu Kee Liu), and that’s because it was. Still, when his creations are this good we don’t think anyone will mind. This is his newest, a magnificent fully remote controlled Scania R560 crane truck.
With drive, four-wheel-steering, working stabilisers, and a mightily impressive rear-mounted crane, we’ve had great fun plucking Elves from the floor and dropping them in the load area.
